Dr. Joanna Heindl is excellent and has provided great care for my DD sister for many years but since she joined this office the communication and treatment by staff is so bad I am forced to seek a new doctor

Horrible office and staff! I was so put off by how I was spoken to on the phone before even setting up my initial appointment that I decided to find a different office. I was given the run around for who was even accepting new patients and then after being treated so poorly by the schedulers I chose to avoid that place altogether. Totally unprofessional and their communication was awful!

Family member presented with high heart rate, oxygen levels far below 90, called PCP @ Foster Family for sick visit and avoided ER because illness is chronic. This patient was barely ambulating. Not even standing up straight, struggling to breathe. Receptionist as always, dismissive and unconcerned, tried to tell him because he didn’t arrive early he was going to have to wait until 2pm until the PCP called him in for his appointment anyways. This location’s office is terrible. Our family has been seeing Dr. Heindl for years and years, followed her from Bay Area Family Care, to Milliken Place and now here. This office is atrocious. If I decide to switch doctors (likely) it will be because these receptionists here have NO business working in healthcare.

After signing on to be followed by Dr. Barnwell I felt my needs would be met. WRONG! After meeting with my new physician I believed we were on the same page. Unfortunately my new Doctor then went on leave and when I contacted the office to get refills on medication. I was told they would NOT REFILL medication. There was NO follow up from office & I spent 2 long days in chronic pain. I had even agreed to try other medications which made me sick for 2 weeks. I requested a meeting with someone to discuss issue and was given a PA who walked in the door with an attitude. I took my spouse for moral support and we were told when asked too many questions & answers didn't make sense that we were making the PA uncomfortable. Actually the PA was defensive because there practices were suspect and both my spouse & i worked many years in health care and actually knew what we were talking about. Would not recommend anybody using unless your medical needs are simple to understand. Shout out to the office staff who is friendly & helpful.
